I'm in the process of re-building my system (because Vista broke on me and I'm still peeved) and got to the stage of re-installing Adobe Reader as that's what I've always used. This time I decided to do a little research, see what else was out there.

I did a Google search on pdf reader software looking for an alternative and came across Foxit Reader, it's absolutely free.

I've subsequently installed it and is now my default (only) pdf reader program. I agree with the blurb at their website. It's exceedingly fast, loads in an instant and doesn't take over your system.

So, it's goodbye Adobe Reader.
