Another big one

It seems like it was only a week ago when I last updated my blog, hang-on, it was a week ago. In that time I've done another heap of running which included four consecutive days at 20+km runs, Monday through Thursday. I didn't plan it like that it just worked out that way.

For Monday's run (23.3 km) it was a relatively strong headwind and for a 3.2 km stretch along Sayers Rd. It never relented and I was glad to do a 90 degree turn at the end.

Tuesday run (21.25 km) and my bloody heart rate monitor was playing up, constantly spiking high readings, clearly not a true representation as I was feeling sooooooo good.

Wednesday's run was my midweek long run at 25.1 km, if you can call it that considering my previous runs in the week and what follows. Heart rate monitor back to normal, I tightened the strap a little.

Thursday's run (20.1 km) was a bit of a forced run initially. Wasn't really looking forward to it, probably because I got up super early to watch Manchester United beat Chelsea in the Champions League. Anyway, once out running I was determined to at least crack the 20 km mark, which I did.

For Friday's effort that was only 16.25 km and at this point in the week, with two running days remaining, gave me a weekly total of 106 km, I was on fire.

Saturday was a rest day and yet I still felt a bit guilty for not running.

Today's (Sunday) long run started just after 2 pm and ran all over Werribee and Hoppers Crossing. All up, 35.4 km, arriving home just on dusk.

Here's a snapshot of my runs this week.

Free Bottled Water

I forgot to mention in relation to yesterday's run (35 km) that about the 16 km mark I was passing the Werribee District and Anglers club house. I wasn't carrying water though I had two gels at the ready. The next water fountain, well the first for this particular route, was still about 3 or 4 k's away.

There was a gent out front and I asked him if he could spare some water. Not a problem, inside we went and he was scouring his fridge, under benches and there's me, "No, no, that's okay, just tap water will do". He went into a back room, came out and handed me a 600 ml bottled water. He told me that he couldn't sell them even at 50 cents. I thanked him profusely and off I went.

I know it's only a little thing but it's nice to know that decent people do exist.

Wooooooo!!!!

Holy crap, over 140k for the week. Very impressive! You are starting to sound like Eagle (Ray James).

Nice to get that bottled

Nice to get that bottled water! The toilet block near there (on the footy ground side of the path) has a basin. I've popped in there a few times for a drink.

The new eagle has almost landed!

141k with a rest day! You're inspiring me to lift my miserable 95-odd k Steve.

Re the month/month thing on my blog - I like to record mileage in blocks of 4 weeks (for comparison purposes month to month) so that means 13 "months" in the year.

Hey, I can always tell when runners are running a lot - they blog less frequently :)
